May ’25 Zoom

Plans have been made for Boston ’25. Attendees included: Marianna, Ellie, Julie, Paulette, Mim, and Suzie.

We discussed many details regarding the upcoming Boston reunion. Please see the Reunion page for added information.

A block of rooms at the Marriott is being held until 6/12—coming up soon! Cancellation without cost can be made up to 48 hours before the date reserved. So far, four rooms have been reserved: Marianna-Ron, Mim-Melon, Kay-Pat, and Paulette-Julie.

Please send Julie your arrival time so we make dinner plans for Thursday. The hotel has some public gathering places, which aren’t amenable for bringing in food. It’s probably too crowded to gather in one of our rooms, so we might gather in the hotel cafe. Hopefully, Thursday evening won’t be as crowded as the weekend.

The hotel concierge recommended taking the Trolley Tour on Friday morning. It gives a great overview and hop-off/hop-on access to many city sites. A few of us plan to hop off at the USS Constitution and take the free ferry ride from Charlestown to the Aquarium before hopping back on the trolley for the rest of the tour. Several of us are going to the Isabella Stuart Gardner Museum, a unique “villa” not far from the MFA. Each room includes two complementary tickets to View Boston (the former Top-of-the-Hub) for a great bird’s eye view of the city and video presentations of Boston and its history.

As in Scottsdale, we’ll go off in small groups to do whatever we want. There are lots of shops and restaurants at Copley Place and the connecting Prudential Center, as well as nearby Boylston and Newbury Streets. Aside from the Gardner, we don’t plan to drive anywhere. Parking is impossible. Ubers are abundant. Paulette knows a guide who can provide a 2-hr walking tour. It will be great to get together and talk to each other in person.

We hope to see you all in July!!!
