Suzie hosted our reunion in Portland, OR. Nine sisters attended from the classes of ’66 and ’67: Crackey, Wallis, Pat, Marianna, Margie, Julie, Linda, and Mary Ann, along with three AlphaGam men: Ron, Alan, and Charlie.
We gathered at the Marriott Champions Bar on Friday, relaxing til dinner on the River Promenade. We shared memories of friends, adventures, crazy things. What laughter and love encircled us all …
Saturday came quickly, and the chatter started anew over croissants and fruit. The day’s adventures began at the Saturday Market, where the hat stand and Dali Mama’s never saw such commotion. We snacked on smoothies and “healthy” food, discovered local artisan treasures, dodged sprinkles of rain among the “sunbreaks,” gabbing all the while.
At Suzie’s, Crackey, Alan, and son, Jason joined us for snacks of regional treats, then everyone pitched in on dinner prep. We learned more about each other’s lives, sharing experiences, some happy, others not. The talk and laughter were non-stop til after midnight.
On Sunday we breakfasted and then started our goodbyes. It was hard to return to our separate worlds again. Thank you, Suzie, for opening up your home and heart to us, planning everything, and gathering us again to share memories, old and new.
